1. Lineup Building Basics
Sport selection, slate modes, player pool curation, and solver execution
CleanSlate DFS utilizes mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) branch-and-bound algorithms to formulate combinations that maximize median and ceiling projections under the constraint of the salary cap.
1
Select Sport & Slate: Use the top navigation bar to choose NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, or PGA. Select the target slate (Main, Afternoon Express, Showdown).
2
Curate the Player Pool: In Column 2, review player values. Tap the Lock icon to mandate a player in 100% of lineups, or the Ban icon to exclude them completely.
3
Generate Portfolio: Select how many lineups you want (from 1 to 150) and tap Optimize Lineups. The mathematical solver computes optimal combinations in seconds.
2. Interacting with DraftKings
Exporting 150 lineups directly into official DraftKings CSV format
Entering 20, 50, or 150 tournament entries manually is prone to human error and missed locks. CleanSlate exports CSVs pre-mapped with DraftKings player IDs and exact column schemas.
DraftKings Workflow Steps
- Generate your desired portfolio in the CleanSlate Optimizer.
- Click Export CSV in Column 3 and select DraftKings.
- Go to DraftKings.com → My Contests → Upload Lineups.
- Select your downloaded CSV file. DraftKings instantly edits and populates all entries with 0 syntax errors.
3. Interacting with FanDuel
Half-PPR nuances, $60,000 salary cap, and CSV bulk import
FanDuel uses a $60,000 salary cap and half-PPR scoring, altering baseline value for possession receivers and target-heavy running backs.
When you select a FanDuel slate in CleanSlate, the optimizer automatically adjusts scoring multipliers and roster slot allocations (e.g., MVP 1.5x for Showdown slates). Simply export via Export CSV → FanDuel and upload to FanDuel's bulk entries page.
4. Projection Sources & Custom Projections
Baseline algorithmic medians, CSV custom uploads, and Projection Plunges
CleanSlate computes default baseline projections from historical efficiency distributions, Vegas team totals, game script pace, and target share models.
Uploading Your Own Custom Projections
- In Column 2, tap Upload Projections.
- Select any CSV containing player names and projected points from your favorite content provider or custom model.
- CleanSlate automatically links player names and team IDs to the live slate.
Projection Plunge Alerts: If an active player in your lineup experiences a sudden drop of 50% or more (e.g. coach announces snap restriction or sudden weather blizzard), CleanSlate triggers a high-priority push notification so you can pivot immediately.
5. CleanSlate Lineup Settings
QB Stacking, Opponent Bring-Backs, Max Exposure %, and Uniqueness
Fine-tune portfolio construction in Column 1:
•
QB Stacking: Pairs Quarterbacks with 1 or 2 pass catchers (WR/TE) to capture game ceiling correlations.
•
Game Stacks (Bring-Back): Mandates an offensive weapon from the opposing team to capitalize on high-scoring shootouts.
•
Max Exposure (%): Cap any individual player across your multi-entry portfolio (e.g. max 35%) to protect bankroll against unexpected duds.
•
Uniqueness (Divergence): Enforces that each lineup differs from every other lineup by at least 2 or 3 distinct players, maximizing tournament coverage.
6. How to Perform Late Swaps
Re-optimizing unlocked players after early games lock
When the 1:00 PM games start, those players lock into your lineup. However, 4:05 PM, 4:25 PM, and Sunday Night Football players remain unlocked.
Late Swap Steps
- Navigate to the Active Lineups tab.
- CleanSlate clearly distinguishes between LOCKED and UNLOCKED roster spots.
- Tap Re-optimize Late Swap. The solver locks in the actual points accumulated from completed/live games and re-allocates remaining salary to the highest upside players left to play.
7. One-Click Fire Drills
Emergency injury pivots across 150 lineups before game lock
When surprise inactive reports drop 90 minutes before kickoff, scrambling to manually swap players across dozens of contests is stressful.
CleanSlate features 1-Click Fire Drills:
Executing an Emergency Fire Drill
- CleanSlate sends an Inactive Player Alert push notification.
- Tap the orange/red alert badge next to the inactive player in Active Lineups.
- The Player-for-Player Late Pivot modal appears with viable, salary-compliant alternatives.
- Check "Apply to all lineups with this player" and click Swap. CleanSlate replaces the ruled-out starter across all your entries in less than a second!
8. Tracking Results & Completed Lineups
Reviewing actual scores, profit/loss, and historical model calibration
Once slates finish, lineups automatically archive in the Completed Lineups tab.
You can review actual fantasy points scored against projected totals, calculate finish percentiles, and measure cash rates. This feedback loop helps you refine stack rules and exposure caps for upcoming weeks.
9. Understanding Contest Benchmarks
Cash lines, GPP winning thresholds, and 20x Return Huge Score Alerts
CleanSlate evaluates live lineups against historical contest archetypes:
C
Cash Game Line: The estimated score needed to finish in the top 50% of the field and double your entry fee.
W
GPP Winning Score: The ceiling threshold historically needed to take down 1st place in large-field tournaments.
20x
Huge Score Alert (20x Return): A high-priority push notification sent when an active lineup reaches elite pacing capable of returning 20x your entry fee or higher.
